Clearing them is straightforward; the part people skip is checking the downpipes actually run, because a clean gutter feeding a blocked downpipe is still a blocked system. I do single-storey with safe ladder access. Two-storey and steep-pitch roofs need proper height safety equipment and I'll refer you rather than improvise.
