The caution is pressure: too much on the wrong surface takes the face off soft brick, cuts lines into timber decking and blows out old mortar between pavers. Different surfaces get different pressure and different nozzles, which is the whole skill in it. Decking in particular wants a much gentler setting than a driveway, and afterwards it needs to dry properly before any oil goes on.
